# Setup checklist

> Check your account, installation, repository, and first agent decision.

Source: https://docs.synkro.sh/onboarding

Use the [Quickstart](/quickstart) to set up Synkro with your agent. This checklist helps you confirm each step or check an existing installation.

## Before you start

- Your email. Your agent can request access if you do not already have an approved account.
- A supported machine: Apple Silicon Mac, or Linux on x86_64 or ARM64.
- A supported agent installed on that machine.
- A Git repository where you want to use Synkro.

The current release does not provide Windows or Intel Mac binaries.

## Complete setup

1. [Install and sign in](/onboarding/install). Confirm your account with `synkro whoami`.
2. Run `synkro status`. Confirm the service is healthy and enforcement is active. Follow any setup instructions it reports. An owner can [add funds](/guides/billing) if needed.
3. In your repository, run `synkro init` if it has no `synkro.toml`, then `synkro lock`.
4. [Start a new agent session](/onboarding/coding-agents) and approve its Synkro hooks if asked.
5. [Verify a new decision](/onboarding/verify-events) for `git status --short`.

No new decision? Use [Troubleshooting](/troubleshooting). To test blocking, use the [tutorial Rule](/guides/rules#test-a-rule).
